Magická noc (Vozáry & Hlavsa) + Poly Noir & The Holy Spirit Smugglers — Malostranská Beseda, Prague

A joint concert of two projects approaching darkness from opposite angles. Jan Vozáry and the late Mejla Hlavsa transformed the dark work of the Plastic People into toxic electronics, while Poly Noir builds on the foundations of dark Americana and draws from the legacy of Ennio Morricone, Johnny Cash, and Nick Cave.

Magická noc is the project of Jan Vozáry (Oceán, formerly Fiction) and the late Czech underground legend Mejla Hlavsa. In 1997 they recorded the album Magická noc (subtitled In Memories of the Plastic People) with electronic versions of old Plastic People songs. A reissue came out in 2026 on Guerilla Records, prompting Vozáry to revive the project for live performances. For 2026 and 2027 he is planning a series of club concerts in a new lineup: Jan Vozáry on drums, synthesizers, samplers, and vocals; Luboš Vodák on vocals.

Poly Noir & The Holy Spirit Smugglers features Poly from the metal-crossover band INSANIA on noir Americana. The backing band The Holy Spirit Smugglers includes Tom Šlápota, Jan Fic, and David Horák. The music draws inspiration from Ennio Morricone, Johnny Cash, Nick Cave, and poet of despair Cormac McCarthy. In 2024 they released the album "K mýmu ohni nesedej" - unforgiving songs without self-pity. Life won't dance with you? Doesn't matter. The landscape and city move on regardless. Amen.
