Trio in Contrasts
A concert in the "Bridges of Contemporary Music" series dedicated to works for violin, clarinet and piano. At the Church of St. Lawrence in Prague, violinist Tereza Horáková, clarinetist Anna Paulová and pianist Matouš Zukal will perform.
The concert opens with Galina Ustvolskaya's Trio for Clarinet, Violin and Piano, marking twenty years since her death in 2026. Three world premieres will be heard - Jaroslav Šťastný's TRIO and TERKASAMA, and Miloš Orson Štědroň's BoMoSia - alongside Jiří Lukeš's Trio for Violin, Clarinet and Piano and Béla Bartók's Contrasts.
Horáková, Paulová and Zukal have previously collaborated on projects presenting new works alongside twentieth and twenty-first century music. They have performed, for example, Messiaen's Quartet for the End of Time alongside a world premiere by Jonáš Starý, and with Jaroslav Šťastný presented his Geometry for solo clarinet and Gnarled Etudes for solo violin.
