General Golian

In 1944, János and Jarmila Golian welcome their long-awaited child in fascist Slovakia, in the midst of World War II, just three weeks before an armed uprising erupts against the German aggressor. The child is to be named after Brigadier General János Golian.

The couple faces a dilemma: heroism or family? At stake is the future of Slovakia and the future of their son. In a country still allied with Nazi Germany, one man bears the main responsibility for the course of events that would later be recorded in Slovak history as the Slovak National Uprising.
