Marcel Bárta & Die Clique + BRIQUE

Programme
19:00 Marcel Bárta & Die Clique
20:30 BRIQUE

Friday evening opens with a legendary saxophonist presenting his brand-new project in its world premiere, followed by the international ensemble BRIQUE.

Marcel Bárta is a prominent figure on the Czech jazz and improvisation scene. A saxophonist, clarinetist, composer and visual artist, he works at the intersection of jazz, free improvisation, experimental and performance music. He is associated with projects Vertigo, MUFF and DoMa Ensemble. His work brings together sonic imagination, openness to unexpected forms and a sense of atmosphere, which allows his music to often transcend the boundaries of conventional jazz.

BRIQUE is a quartet that moves between lyrical songwriting, improvisation and a rawer urban energy. Led by the voice of Bianca Iannuzzi, together with pianist Eve Risser, bassist Luc Ex and drummer Francesco Pastacaldi, they create music full of shifting moods, tension and unexpected turns. Their work is built on original compositions and texts by various authors, combining simplicity of expression with rich imagery. The band can open up a delicate poetic landscape in one moment and transform it into a pulsing, rhythmically gripping musical world the next.
