Marien & Víťa Troníček — Restaurace U Letců, Hradec Králové

Marien is a Czech folk, country and tramping band from Pardubice, performing since 2004. The seven-member group is fronted by guitarist and songwriter Víťa Troníček. The band is known for its distinctive multi-part vocals and acoustic guitars, complemented by percussion, flute and harmonica.

The band was formed after the breakup of the Pardubice group Poupata - some of its members founded the folk group Pouta, while others formed Marien. They made their debut in summer 2004 in Náměšť na Hané. In 2009 they released their debut album Krajina v Tobě, followed by V půli cesty (2012) and Ze skla (2014).

In 2013, singer Zdeňka Troníčková went on maternity leave and was replaced by Zuzana Mimrová. In 2014, during the band's 10th anniversary celebrations, Zdeňka Troníčková returned, giving the group two singers and expanding their repertoire with female duets. The celebrations were overshadowed by the tragic death of band member Zbyněk Zubřík Rosendorf, who died while climbing Reichenspitze in the Zillertal Alps.

Other band members include or included Karolina Böhmová (vocals, percussion), Ivan Němec (vocals, 12-string guitar), Michal Myšák Paták (guitar, percussion, vocals), Jan Troníček (harmonica, founding member and Víťa's brother), Radek Píďa Bartoš (founding member, guitar, percussion, vocals) and Petr Feďas Opočenský (bass guitar, double bass).
