Eleven-year-old Hania loses her mother and moves to a new city with her father. Hania believes in goblins, which makes her a target of ridicule from her peers. To defend herself, she brings a locket to school, claiming it is a gift from goblins.

Her classmates steal the locket and will only return it if she can prove that goblins actually exist. Hania is trapped - the locket is a memory of her mother and she took it without her father's knowledge. The only way out is to actually find a goblin, and with the help of a school outsider, Michał, and their shared adventure, she manages to do it.
