NODO / Days of New Opera Ostrava is the only opera festival in the Czech Republic consistently dedicated to contemporary opera — from its classical form to the experimental. Founded in 2012 through the merger of the National Theatre of Moravia-Silesia and the Ostrava Centre for New Music, it has since presented over forty Czech and world premieres in Ostrava.
In 2026, the festival enters its fourteenth season and, through contemporary opera and musical theatre, reopens questions about the meaning of existence in the 21st century.
