Walking Across Half the Planet: From Bali to Czechia
What is it like to walk across half the planet, and is it even possible?
That's exactly what these wanderers wanted to find out, so they set off with backpacks from Indonesian Bali on a journey spanning over 22,000 kilometers all the way to the Czech Republic.
During their multi-year trek, they crossed Indonesian volcanoes, slept with local people, and battled tropical heat and ever-present insects. They navigated the chaos of Indian cities, climbed into the Nepali mountains, and continued through forgotten corners of Asia into Afghan deserts. Along the way, they met a host of hospitable and fascinating people who often helped them when they needed it most.
This lecture offers an authentic - and sometimes slightly masochistic - story about improvisation and situations you couldn't dream up from your living room couch. Expect photos and videos from the field, plus plenty of humor.
