Musical Salon Café crème: England
England - 17th-century English music performed by three great personalities bound by friendship: Matthew Locke, John Blow, and Henry Purcell. Vocal and instrumental works will be heard, complemented by excerpts from the diaries of Samuel Pepys, including mention of his meeting with Purcell and Locke in one of London's coffee houses.
Performers:
- Barbora Kabátková, Kamila Mazalová - vocals
- Hana Fleková - viola da gamba
- Monika Knoblochová - harpsichord
The Musical Salon Café crème has been operating for 18 years, building its projects on the contrast and harmony of old and modern music, sometimes complemented by literature, theatre, dance, or visual art. Through its artistic quality, it has earned the patronage of Prague Spring and takes place in its spaces - in the Church of St. Lawrence.
After the concert, light refreshments follow, offering an opportunity to meet the artists and chat over a glass of wine, much like in the traditional Sunday salons of the past century.
