Priscilla, Queen of the Desert

A worn pink bus named Priscilla sets out from Sydney and crosses the scorching Australian outback. Its passengers are as colorful and eccentric as the animals of the savanna. Tick, also known as Mitzi, travels to find his ex-wife and the son he has never met. Adam, also known as Felicia, seeks adventure. Bernadette travels to escape the memory of her recently deceased husband.

This story about social (in)tolerance toward difference unfolds to the accompaniment of the greatest musical hits of the 1970s - beneath layers of sequins, glitter, feathers and wigs, and on extremely high heels.
