The Met: Live in HD series continues with Mozart's satirical comedy about the fickleness of love in two young couples. Director Phelim McDermott, described by The New York Times as "colourful and inventive", sets the plot full of unexpected twists in an amusement park reminiscent of 1950s Coney Island - the two couples experience a roller-coaster ride both figuratively and literally.

Soprano Federica Lombardi and mezzo-soprano Samantha Hankey sing Fiordiligi and Dorabella, who exchange partners Ferrando and Guglielmo performed by tenor Duke Kim and baritone Andrej Žilichovsky. Bass-baritone Gerald Finley reprises the role of the cynical Don Alfonso, soprano Ana María Martínez appears as the maid Despina.

Bio Central is the last brick-and-mortar cinema in Hradec Králové, operating since 1929 under various names (Bio Slavie, Kino Jas, Kino Centrál). After a long break it reopened in December 2012. The large hall seats 384, the small hall 40. The programme covers mainstream and art-house films, live broadcasts of opera, theatre and ballet, a film club, and annual festivals such as Jeden svět, Dny evropského filmu and Cinema Open. In summer it also runs an open-air cinema at the Gayer Barracks.

Federica Lombardi is an Italian soprano known especially for her Mozart roles, performing at houses such as the Metropolitan Opera and the Vienna State Opera. In this production of Così fan tutte she sings Fiordiligi, one of her signature parts. She has also appeared regularly at the Salzburg Festival.

Samantha Hankey is an American mezzo-soprano who has built her career largely at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, singing both classic and contemporary repertoire. In Phelim McDermott's production of Mozart's Così fan tutte she performs the role of Dorabella.
