28 and Teeth — Venuše Ve Švehlovce, Prague

"Weddings are exactly the moment when you can settle accounts with your own life. Because you need to chase your shirt for several hours in front of others, and that's when you find out if you really believe the words you're saying."

In a resort from Wish, far from the city, where instead of espresso there's still a choice between Turkish coffee and Nescafé, and a Best of Jožka Černý playlist plays from the speakers, four almost-thirty-year-olds meet at the wedding of mutual friends.

At this age, life paths begin to diverge more than ever before: having your own baby as a grave of social bonds, returning to your childhood bedroom after a failed attempt to settle abroad, giving up your own uniqueness, or a settled, comfortable and slightly boring life in a childless marriage. Everything can be right - at least until the moment you start talking about it out loud.

Between the sweet bar, wedding games and obligatory small talk, suddenly people talk more than necessary. And with that come doubts about whether your own choice of life path was the best possible one.

28 and Teeth is a comedy on the edge of cringe and sincerity, social awkwardness and quiet despair - about what happens when you already have almost all your teeth, but still no wisdom.
