Threeema
Imagine yourself in your conspiracy apartment dealing with everyday matters - how to win a court case worth millions of euros through fraud, how to start a political party using fake signatures, or whether to buy an existing one, sending links to the prime minister so he finally does something about your people, and so on. But it turns out you're not alone in the apartment. And that's strange, because there's no meeting scheduled for today. Moreover, you don't know the other person. And they know far too much. It's a bad start to a day that certainly doesn't bode well for what comes next.
Threeema is a play about a fictional meeting of not quite fictional people. The text uses passages from published communication between figures from behind the scenes of Slovak politics. The main character is a well-known mafia figure. At the same time, he represents a type of person you can find dozens of in Slovakia. A speculator who rose through several dubious deals and now wants to gain influence and power. But there's never enough power. The play mixes reality and fiction, with one being more unbelievable than the other. Behind the complicated political machinations, however, hovers a simple question: Can the state deal with a villain, or can the villain deal with the state?
Warning: The performance contains vulgarities. Many vulgarities.
