Flotsam & Jetsam

A dance-performance piece bringing together juggler Lukas Bliss and dancer Andrej Štěpita.

A physical exploration of friendship, wordplay, and relationships.

"Flotsam and Jetsam are originally maritime terms for objects, debris, and wreckage that ships discard at sea for various reasons. Flotsam refers to objects a ship accidentally loses during its voyage, while jetsam refers to things the crew deliberately throws overboard to lighten the vessel in an emergency."

Two men, or two boys, lost in the middle of a sea of balls. A juggler and a dancer. Best friends.

(Friendship, boyishness, playfulness)

On the horizon, infinite possibility. Tides rising and falling. A transocean flight. New land. Longing for the ocean. Fear of heights. Fear of depths. A sister who is irrelevant to it all. And then that thing.

I have lost nothing, and therefore I have found nothing either. At sea we can lose ourselves, or simply drift without purpose.

The performance may contain traces of English, Czech, Slovak, and crustaceans. You need not understand any of the languages used to fully enjoy the show.
