Feast for the Hawk
A multi-layered play by S.d.Ch. that boldly challenges the seemingly noble face of Czech scouting and its icon, Jaroslav Foglar. A story about conformism, pretense, ideological emptiness, and the failure to ever truly grow up.
Tired of scouts? You are invited to a feast. The menu will be varied: slowly roasted hawk in its own juices, piquant long-simmered broth of scouting hypocrisy, time-worn canned goods warmed in fire and ash, or gently stewed ideals of eternal youth.
The author strips away scouting's noble mask and shatters the iconic cult of Jaroslav Foglar in a harsh manner - at times cruel to seekers of the Stínadla, sharply satirical - but decidedly not tabloid. It goes beneath the surface to the very foundations on which the entire movement stands.
