Architecture Day: Domažlice - The Story of Dr. Rudolf Němec's House

A guided tour of a functionalist villa from 1937 with architect Eva Velková and heritage experts Kristýna Tomanová and Pavel Domanický. The house is one of the most distinctive examples of interwar modern architecture in Domažlice.

The villa was designed and built by the construction company of brothers Karel and Jiří Němec for their older brother, hospital director Dr. Rudolf Němec. After forced expropriation after 1945, the building passed into state ownership and served as a kindergarten. The original garden layout and numerous interior and craft details have been preserved to this day.
