Jakub König & Hvězdy + host: Bára Zmeková
Jakub König performs on October 2 at Cargo Gallery with his band Hvězdy, playing material from his solo album Hvězdy (Animal Music, September 2023) - recordings moving between dance electronics and psychedelic pop, produced by Petr Ostrouchov and Aid Kid. The concert will also feature the title song from the film Zápisník alkoholičky (dir. Dan Svátek, 2024), for which Jakub composed music together with Aid Kid. The album Hvězdy earned him a nomination for the Anděl Award in the Solo Artist category; he is a three-time Anděl Award winner - one for Kittchen and two for Zvíře jménem Podzim. In autumn 2025 he released another solo album, Astronauti.
The band Hvězdy is made up of musicians from Jakub's previous projects: Tereza and Tomáš Obermajerovi (bass and drums), Ondřej Mataj (guitars and vocals), Štěpán Růžička (keyboards, synthesizer and vocals), and Jakub Chaba (bass and cigarbox). The visual element of the evening is provided by VJ projections by Linda Arbanová.
Special guest is Bára Zmeková - composer, pianist and vocalist whose songs, with original Czech lyrics, move between jazz, folk, classical music and subtle electronics. She alternates piano playing with synthesizers; her concert fans describe her performances as "soul trip" or "poetry in music".
