Report on the Matter of Normality

Report on the Matter of Normality is a documentary theatre piece about the position of people with intellectual disabilities in Czech society. It was created in collaboration between Divadlo Setkání and Divadlo Klauniky, which has long been engaged in integrative theatre work and operates the social enterprise Penzion Lipůvka in Jeseníky.

The production traces the development of integrating people with intellectual disabilities into mainstream society. Its performers challenge the ingrained image of passive care recipients and resist the notion that human abilities can be arranged on a scale dividing the population into "standard" and "non-standard".

Divadlo Setkání is an interdisciplinary creative collective that combines theatre and visual art with socially and ecologically engaged themes. It works with various formats - from classical performances to audio walks and other unconventional theatre forms. The project was supported by the Prague City Hall and the Czech State Fund for Culture.
