About the venue: Kulturní dům Josefa Suka

Kulturní dům Josefa Suka is Sedlčany's main cultural venue, hosting theatre performances, film screenings, concerts, exhibitions and dance courses. It is named after composer Josef Suk (1874-1935), born in nearby Křečovice and honorary citizen of the town since 1930 - a bust by Václav Bejček (1965) stands in front of the building. The venue also manages the Lidová hvězdárna Josefa Sadila observatory on Cihelný vrch hill.

About: Piotr Machalica

Piotr Machalica is a Polish actor best known for his work in film and theatre from the late 1980s onward. He played Tomek in Krzysztof Kieślowski's A Short Film About Love (1988), a young postal clerk obsessively watching a woman across the courtyard. The role brought him wide recognition in Polish cinema.
