National Collection of Bad Habits
Divadlo BRAVO!, Prague
National Collection of Bad Habits is the nineteenth production of Losers Cirque Company, which for the first time in the ensemble's history combines elements of new circus and dramatic theatre. The production is directed by Tomáš Dianiška — a director, dramatist, actor and recipient of numerous awards from theatre critics and theatre publications. The production is inspired by the eponymous project by Kateřina Šedá.
The story follows Sara, who moves into a small studio apartment and starts dating Adam. At first, his bad habits — always walking to the left, talking with his mouth full, or shouting on the phone — seem endearing to her. When Adam moves in with her, the cramped studio surrounded by noisy neighbours escalates the situation, and minor quirks grow into enormous problems.
The production features members of Losers Cirque Company — professional acrobats, dancers and performers. The visual language of new circus, encompassing non-verbal gestures, dance, aerial and ground acrobatics and hyperbole, intertwines with dramatic narration, humour and references to romantic comedy pop culture.
