Volmanova vila – Guided Tour
Volmanova vila, Čelákovice
A guided tour of one of the most significant functionalist buildings of the First Republic, designed by architects Karel Janů and Jiří Štursá. The largest villa in Bohemia was built in 1938–1939 for Josef Volman, owner of a Čelákovice factory, and demonstrates how its creators—representatives of scientific, left-leaning functionalism—followed current European trends and transformed them into an exceptional structure.
Participants will learn about Josef Volman's life story and the dramatic fate of the house, which was restored from a severely dilapidated state according to a design by architect Marek Tichý from TaK Architects studio.
The park can be entered 15 minutes before the tour begins. Group reservations should be arranged at info@vilavolman.cz.
