Dancetopia 2026
Goethe-Institut, Prague
Dancetopia is a four-day festival of performances, workshops, and discussions featuring international artists and performers at various venues across Prague. The third edition of the festival creates a platform for dance regardless of professional level. The programme takes place over the weekend of June 5–8 and weaves together themes of authenticity and artifice.
The festival's centre will be the Goethe-Institut in Prague, with some programme blocks expanding to other Prague venues such as Libeňská synagoga. Workshops will be led by international artists and performers, including special symposium guest Isabel Lewis — an artist and choreographer born in the Dominican Republic whose work explores open-source technologies, dance improvisation, and dance as a form of social interaction. She currently serves as artistic director of Vienna's Tanzquartier Wien, a centre for contemporary choreography and performative arts.
Performances: Katrina E. Bastian (Terminal), Lucia Kašiarová (Mnohodinec), Pavel Matela (Permaperformer), Peter Pleyer (Slow Rave) & Azolla Collective (Asphalt Lovers)
Workshops with: Isabel Lewis, Peter Pleyer, Raul Vargas Torres, Katrina E. Bastian
Dancetopia 2026 is supported by the Prague City Hall, the Czech Ministry of Culture, and the Czech State Fund for Culture.
