Trees Die Standing

A comedy with heart by Spanish playwright Alejandro Casona. The main character is a grandmother who has not lost her joy in life or her faith in a better world, and for twenty years has lovingly awaited her grandson's return. Her husband creates for her a "play on reality" - a kind illusion that is not deception, but the art of making life more bearable and cheerful. A play full of humour that also makes you think.

Since November 2026, a new theatrical production of this celebrated play has been running. Simona Stašová takes the lead role after years of anticipation.
