Poeta

Oscar is a failed poet and professional failure - he still lives with his mother and when he's not reciting his own work, he stumbles drunk through the streets of Medellín. An offer to become a mentor to a young student brings him an unexpected chance to take his life into his own hands. If he doesn't mess it up again.

An absurd comedy by director Simón Mesa Sota, awarded the Jury Prize in the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival, follows with sharp irony how every good deed is deservedly accompanied by a cruel yet strangely poetic retribution.
