HAZARD and SoVS - Bluegrass

A bluegrass evening featuring two bands - one from Zlín and one from Plzeň.

HAZARD Zlín was founded in 1985 as a group of country music enthusiasts who played occasionally at campsites and cottages. The name Hazard was chosen by the band's original leader and founder. Over the years, many musicians from Zlín and the surrounding region have passed through the band, and the musical style eventually settled on bluegrass sung predominantly in Czech. Line-up: Jaroslav Mikl (mandolin, vocals), Josef Šňupík (guitar, vocals), Zdeněk Hasala (banjo, vocals), Libor Nábělek (upright bass, vocals), Pavel Novák (fiddle, vocals).

SoVS (Starci od vyholené strouhy) is a Plzeň-based group that emerged from the bands Cátro (Přeštice) and Centrum (Plzeň). The reformed line-up was created in 2019 for the "Bluegrass na vinici" festival and features songs from Country Gentlemen, Quicksilver, Seldom Scene, and JD Crowe.
