Sinfonietta100
Zámek Moravský Krumlov, Moravský Krumlov
A contemporary musical and dance adaptation of Leoš Janáček's Sinfonietta, marking 100 years since its creation. Janáček wrote of it: "And then once I beheld the city in miraculous transformation. Above the city, the radiance of freedom conjured forth, rebirth. And the crash of victorious trumpets, night shadows and the breath of the green mountain, and visions of a certain grandeur and magnitude were born in my Sinfonietta from this knowledge of my city Brno."
Choreographer Martin Dvořák approaches the composition as a dance image of our time - Janáček's music serves as a counterpoint to contemporary society filled with chaos, manipulation and brutality. Musician and vocalist Patrik Kee adds four of his own pieces to Janáček's five movements, creating a musical bridge to the present.
Six dancers perform before an audience of up to one hundred in the Water Towers space on Žlutý kopec.
