After their parents' tragic death in a car accident, siblings Oskar and Linda are separated. They reunite years later in Tokyo, where Oskar works as a drug dealer and Linda dances in a strip club. They promise each other never to abandon one another - but one night, Oskar is shot during a police raid.

Yet the promise he made won't let him leave this world. His ghost wanders through the neon-lit Tokyo nights, and the present begins to blur with the past and future. Director Gaspar Noé pushes the boundaries of cinematic storytelling - both visually and thematically.
