A Short Film About Love
A grey Warsaw housing estate in the 1980s. Young postal clerk Tomek sets his alarm for 8:30 to be ready when the woman from the opposite building comes home. For a year, he has been watching the attractive thirty-something Magda with all the innocence and sincerity of his nineteen years. But the love he is slowly losing control of drives him to acts that cross the line of silent admiration. He calls her, sends her fake postal notices, and starts delivering milk so he can meet her in person. He reports a gas leak at her apartment to sabotage her romantic meeting. When he finally cannot hold back and confesses, the experienced, unhappy, and lonely woman takes revenge for his clumsy intrusion into her privacy - she invites him home and shows him what love means to her. Deeply wounded and humiliated, Tomek no longer wants to live.
