If Pigeons Turned to Gold

Over five years, young director Pepa Lubojacki documented her own family's stories. Why did addiction rob her brother and two cousins of their relationships, sense of security, health, and home? And what if addiction itself is not the root cause, but something that began much earlier?

The film blends intimate diary footage, animated photographs, stylized memories, and graphic collages. Pepa confronts a question with no easy answer: where does love end and control begin? To save, or to let go?

The film won the award for best documentary at the Berlin Film Festival.
