Moonlight

Moonlight follows the story of young Chiron through three life stages - from childhood to adulthood - in the harsh environment of Miami's marginal neighborhoods. Chiron searches for his place in a world governed by the law of the stronger, while grappling with love, pain, and his own sexual identity. The film also captures a broader portrait of contemporary American suburbs and the forces that quietly shape human lives.

The film won a Golden Globe for Best Film and three Oscars. In 2022, Sight and Sound magazine ranked it among the 100 greatest films of all time.
