In the Footsteps of Catholic Dissident Michal Mrtvy

What was it like to live in Olomouc at a time when the StB pursued you for your beliefs? And where could one hide when the secret police were on your heels?

This walking tour traces the story of Michal Mrtvy, an Olomouc Catholic dissident and samizdat contributor. We will visit places that played a concrete role in his story - the house from which he fled the StB, one of his escape routes around the heating plants and Šantovka, the courthouse where he faced the justice system of the time, and Opletalova Street, where the StB finally arrested him.

Along the way, we will also recall what Olomouc looked like in that era. We may be joined by Vít Pelikán, a witness who worked in samizdat alongside Michal Mrtvy.
