Concert for Prague 8: Beethoven's "Fate"

**Ludwig van Beethoven: *Symphony No. 5 in C minor, Op. 67 - "Fate"***

Beethoven's Fifth Symphony ranks among the most celebrated works of classical music. Its famous opening four notes are among the most recognizable musical motifs of all time, associated across generations with the image of fate entering human life.

The symphony was composed during a period when Beethoven struggled with progressive hearing loss. Yet - or perhaps because of this - he created a work full of determination and energy, now regarded as part of his so-called heroic period. From its dramatic opening, the music builds toward a triumphant finale in C major, as if the struggle against adversity transforms into the victory of human will.

The concert is organized by Prague Philharmonia in collaboration with the Prague 8 Municipal Council and KD Ládví.
