Invasive Plants in the Czech Landscape - Challenge or a Losing Battle?

You may have read reports of something like a Day of the Triffids unfolding - here they battle giant hogweed, there Japanese knotweed, elsewhere nutrias have infested rivers and crayfish are dying from introduced diseases. Or you experience it firsthand in your own garden: you cut down an old acacia or staghorn sumac, and their shoots keep coming back.

This lecture at Wolfram will attempt to answer why all this is happening, who is responsible, and whether it makes sense to fight invasive species - or if we simply need to learn to live with them.
