Dream Team

The comedy Dream Team centres on Marek, a determined basketball coach whose team has failed to advance to the second national league. He would gladly quit coaching - but his son Šimon, who has an intellectual disability, dreams of one day playing for the national team at the Paralympics.

Marek decides to make his son's dream come true, but runs into a major problem: he cannot assemble a large enough team of players who meet Paralympic criteria. Then his neighbour Daniel, a failed theatre director, steps in with a bizarre plan - to put together a team of healthy basketball players who will pretend to have intellectual disabilities. Marek knows it is unethical, but he thinks only of Šimon's happiness.

So an expedition full of fake disabled athletes heads to Rio de Janeiro. Only under that Brazilian sun does Marek begin to realize what a huge mess he is getting into.
