Divadlo Za plotem presents its own production of Karel Čapek's R.U.R. - transposed to the present day. Čapek wrote R.U.R. in 1920, when the word "robot" was just entering the language and robotics existed only as literary fantasy. But what happens when we place the same play in an era when robots are actually being manufactured and taking over more and more human tasks?

The production poses questions that Čapek's text opened more than a hundred years ago and which sound more urgent than ever today: are we creating helpers, or our successors? And does humanity deserve to be saved?
