Donovan Kingjay + The Boss Foundation

After last year's debut as part of the Original Gravity Connections project, British reggae singer Donovan Kingjay returns to Prague. The UK-based vocalist with Jamaican roots will perform a concert of reggae, ska and rocksteady at Malostranská Beseda - specifically in club 100, which holds a maximum of 100 people.

Donovan Kingjay (UK/JAM) will be accompanied by the international ten-piece band Rudeboy Paradise, featuring vocalist Annamária d'Almeida. He brings an authentic early reggae and ska sound with a London edge - original songs and surprising covers in the vintage style typical of Original Gravity Records. The repertoire and musical direction are handled by label head Neil Anderson, who will also be present on stage.

The Boss Foundation (UK/CZ) is a project by Neil Anderson, with which the band will present a cross-section of Original Gravity's catalogue - tracks released under various names on seven-inch vinyl. These records have brought the British label international attention among fans of authentic early reggae, ska, Latin and soul, as well as airtime on BBC. Expect a mostly instrumental set full of solos, thick grooves and memorable melodies.

The evening will be rounded out by stylish DJs, whose names will be announced soon.
