PLI — DOX Centrum současného umění, Prague

A solo performance by Viktor Cerny that moves between dance, physical theatre, and visual art.

Twenty-two conference chairs, an obsessive rhythm, and one body in constant interaction with space. Cerny becomes both architect and living building material - in an endless cycle of construction, deconstruction, and reconstruction, transforming ordinary objects into visual compositions, movement into sculpture, chaos into organized form.

Since its premiere in 2018, PLI has been presented on more than 120 stages worldwide - from the first Czech choreography ever shown at Paris's Théâtre de la Ville through Barcelona, Rome, Stockholm to Bangkok and Hong Kong. Among nearly 700 projects, PLI was selected as one of twenty European performances in the prestigious Aerowaves Twenty20 catalogue. In 2019 it won the Audience Prize and the Grand Prize of the Czech Dance Platform; Viktor Cerny received a nomination for concept and choreography in the Dance and Movement Theatre category at the 2019 Theatre Newspaper Awards.

DOX presents Viktor Cerny's work as part of its programme supporting established Czech performers with original stage language.
