ZUŠ Josefa Slavíka Hořovice is a state arts school in Hořovice, Central Bohemia, named after the violin virtuoso Josef Slavík (1806-1833), who grew up in the town. The school covers music, dance and visual arts - from brass and strings to choral singing - and runs ensembles including the HORband and the Zvonek choir. Students regularly place in regional and national ZUŠ competitions, and the school takes part in the annual ZUŠ Open festival.
In January 2026, the J. Slavik Music School in Hořovice held the district round of a chamber music competition; all chamber ensembles of the school advanced to the regional round, and teacher Eliška Chaloupková received a special jury prize for outstanding guidance of students.
In 2026, the school celebrates the 220th anniversary of the birth of its patron Josef Slavik, and on this occasion it organized a Teachers' Concert in the hall of the Hořovice town hall.
In February 2025, students of the vocal class of the Hořovice Music School won 12 first places out of 16 competition performances in the district round of the Music School competition; 8 of them advanced to the regional round.
The chamber vocal ensemble KOPES participated in 2024 in the nationwide project Singing for UNICEF, and the school's students continued their competition successes at the Karlovy Vary Lark festival.
