Žalman & spol. is a Czech folk band led by singer-songwriter Pavel Lohonka (born 20 March 1946 in České Budějovice), known by his stage name Žalman. The group grew out of the trio Žalmanův jihočeský výběr, which debuted at the Porta festival in Plzeň in 1982, and has performed without interruption ever since. Lohonka previously played with the legendary South Bohemian group Minnesengři, recording nine albums with them; his total discography runs to over thirty releases. He has received the Zlatá Porta and the Velká Porta lifetime achievement award, and songs like Jantarová země and Ho ho Watanay have become folk standards sung around campfires across the country.
