Vladimír Váchal is a Czech abstract painter, traveller and Persian-language interpreter. He has visited over a hundred countries - from Antarctica to North Korea to Iran, which he considers his favourite destination. He wrote about his adventures in the book Únosně výstřední and since 2021 has hosted the travel show Za hranicí. He paints his abstract canvases with palette knives, always in a square format.
