Vincent Cassel (born Vincent Crochon, 23 November 1966 in Paris) is a French actor and the son of Jean-Pierre Cassel. He broke through with Kassovitz's La Haine (1995) and won the César Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of gangster Jacques Mesrine in the two-part 2008 epic. His English-language work spans Ocean's Twelve, Eastern Promises, Black Swan, and Jason Bourne, making him one of the most internationally recognised faces of European cinema.
The Netflix film Quasimodo, l'âme de Paris starring Cassel was confirmed for worldwide release in autumn 2026.
The film Histoires parallèles (Parallel Stories), in which Cassel stars, was released on May 14, 2026.
Cassel appeared in the action thriller Sacrifice (directed by Romain Gavras) alongside Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Evans; the film premiered at TIFF in September 2025.
Netflix announced that Cassel will play the title role in the French historical film Quasimodo, directed by Jean-François Richet; filming took place in summer 2025 in France.
