Venom is a British heavy metal band from Newcastle, formed in the late 1970s. Their albums Welcome to Hell (1981) and Black Metal (1982) were foundational to the development of black metal, thrash metal, and death metal. Their raw, aggressive sound and satanic imagery influenced countless extreme metal acts worldwide.
