Václav Špála

About

Václav Špála (1885–1946) was a Czech painter and one of the most distinctive figures of Czech Expressionism and Fauvist-influenced modernism. He studied at the Prague Academy of Fine Arts and was a member of the Osma group and the Mánes Artists' Association. His output encompasses landscapes, nudes, and flower still lifes, which form the largest single category of his work.
