Marecek, Pass Me the Pen!
A Czechoslovak film about a man who returns to school and must come to terms with his son being the better student. A comedy about education, family, and overcoming obstacles.
Václav Lohniský (1920-1980) was a Czech actor and theatre director who accumulated over 120 film and television credits across three decades. Though he spent his career almost entirely in supporting roles, his sharp, angular features and gift for comic characterisation made him one of the most recognisable faces in Czechoslovak cinema. He is best remembered as the eager evening-school student Hujer in Marečku, podejte mi pero! (1976) and the unhinged psychiatrist Chocholoušek in Jáchyme, hoď ho do stroje! (1974). Alongside his screen work, he led the Divadlo S. K. Neumanna theatre in Prague-Libeň from 1956 until his death, serving as its director from 1958 to 1965.
Kinobox.cz recalled the 45th anniversary of the comedy Trhák (1981), in which Lohniský played shortly before his death.
