About

Václav Janů is a Czech jazz guitarist who studied at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory in Prague. In the Swing Melody ensemble he is the sole harmony instrument, anchoring the rhythm section on guitar. He also plays with Prague Rhythm Kings, VorazBand and Sunny Swing Orchestra, with his musical interests centred on early jazz, blues and fingerstyle guitar. He teaches guitar at the ZUŠ music school in Vlašim.
