Uma Karuna Thurman (born April 29, 1970, Boston) is an American actress who rose to global prominence as Mia Wallace in Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction (1994), earning Oscar, BAFTA and Golden Globe nominations. She reunited with Tarantino for Kill Bill: Volume 1 and 2 (2003-2004), playing The Bride - a character she co-created with the director - and received two further Golden Globe nominations. She won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a TV Film for Hysterical Blindness (2002).
Thurman confirmed her participation in the second season of the Dexter: Resurrection series for Paramount+, where she reprises the role of Charley - a former special operations agent.
The action thriller Pretty Lethal premiered at the SXSW festival, in which Thurman plays a mysterious motel owner and former ballet star Devora Kasimer.
Production has begun on the sequel Red, White & Royal Wedding, where Thurman returns to her role from the first film alongside Nicholas Galitzine and Taylor Zakhar Perez.
Thurman returned to the role of the Bride after more than twenty years in a four-minute animated short film The Lost Chapter: Yuki's Revenge, which Tarantino directed for Fortnite using motion capture technology.
The series Dexter: Resurrection premiered on Paramount+ in July 2025 - it was Thurman's first major television role since 2022.
