Tosca is an opera by Italian composer Giacomo Puccini, first performed in Rome in 1900. Its dramatic plot follows the singer Tosca, her lover the painter Cavaradossi, and the villainous Baron Scarpia in Rome of 1800. It remains one of the most frequently performed operas in the world repertoire.
