Tony Hale is an American actor and comedian best known for playing Buster Bluth in Arrested Development and Gary Walsh, the devoted personal aide to the president, in Veep. He won two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for Veep (2013 and 2015). He voices Forky in the Toy Story franchise from the fourth film onward, and in 2024 took over the role of Fear in Pixar's blockbuster Inside Out 2.
In August 2025, it was confirmed that Hale will return as Forky in the upcoming Toy Story 5.
The family film Sketch, in which Hale plays the lead role and also serves as producer, premiered on August 6, 2025 on more than 2,000 screens in the USA and Canada and received a 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
In December 2025, Hale received an honorary doctorate in fine arts from his alma mater, Samford University, where he also delivered a speech at the graduation ceremony.
In 2024, Hale replaced Bill Hader in the role of Fear in Pixar's animated hit Inside Out 2, which earned over 1.69 billion dollars worldwide.
