About

Tomáš Novotný (born 1985, Šternberk) is a Czech actor and musical theatre performer who trained in musical acting at JAMU in Brno (graduating 2008). He has worked with the Brno City Theatre, the Prague City Theatres and is a regular guest at Divadlo Semafor; his longest-running collaboration is with the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre in Ostrava, where he also serves as a dramaturg for the musical ensemble. Together with Lukáš Udržal and Ladislav Marek he co-founded Divadlo Tří in Pardubice, a company specialising in absurdist and dark-humour one-acts, and he translates international musicals into Czech. In the Křinec region he helped establish the civic association Kultura pro Křinecko and co-initiated the Zámecké léto v Křinci festival.
