Theodore Melfi is an American film director and screenwriter. He broke through with his debut feature St. Vincent (2014), then gained wide recognition with Hidden Figures (2016), a drama about Black female mathematicians at NASA during the Space Race. The film received an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture.
